Potential speakers

Over the years our organisations have build strong collaborations in (inter)national academic and city networks. It is through these networks and building on previous experiences in hosting many international events, that we will contribute to creating an inspiring programme and inviting esteemed speakers. Support in this is provided by WHO HQ/Urban Health (Nathalie Roebbel), WHO EURO Environment and Health (Francesca Racioppi) and WHO EURO Healthy Cities Network (Kira Fortune).

Suggested speakers from our academic contacts are for example;

  • Prof. dr. M te Brömmelstroet (University of Amsterdam, Urban Planning)
  • Mark Nieuwenhuijsen PhD (ISGlobal, health impact assessment)
  • Karin Huber-Heim (chair of the Austrian Circular Economy Task Force).

To be completed with speakers from private sector and citizen initiatives, such as;

  • Esther Agricola (regional director BPD)
  • Donica Buisman (founder and director RAUM Utrecht)
  • Cedric Ryckaert (primary school Kortrijk), and representatives from Utrecht Thirty030 and WHO Youth Council.

Whereas, finally, political engagement can be organised through talks from Utrecht mayor Sharon Dijksma, politicians from the city of Utrecht as well as the province of Utrecht, and by involving mayors and politicians from the WHO European Healthy Cities Network.
